The Alphen Antiques and Collectables Fairs will take place at Alphen Centre (opposite Constantia Village), on second and fourth Sunday of the month, between 10am and 4pm. Variety of items -- including jewellery, glass, ceramics, silver, toys.

Zen and the art of minute South African trees.
This year's show will displaying well over 100 magnificent miniature trees of the highest standard with a strong focus on exciting indigenous trees.

Novices to bonsai will enjoy education table and demonstrations on how to design bonsai and how to maintain and care for them. Numerous trees, pots, tools, starter kits and equipment will be available to purchase.

Open daily from 09:00 – 05:00. Although a small donation would be appreciated, there is no charge to see this magnificent show, other than the obligatory fee to enter Kirstenbosch Gardens.

Durban Tourism CEO, Phillip Sithole said Indaba is one of the key strategic events hosted by Durban, and it is also a key economic catalyst not only among tourism related businesses but it also greatly contributes to the broader economy of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal and the country at large as Indaba contributes about R250 to R300 million to the economy of Durban.

Streets of Joburg will be alive with colour and sound of carnival on New Year's Eve. More than 2,000 carnival participants from the city's seven regions will turn Jozi into a fantastic party full of fun and entertainment, that is sure to entertain the whole family. During the carnival, troupes from different regions will compete for different prizes, incl best large costume, best troupe costume, best overall interpretation of sub-themes and best choreographed region. Jozi my Jozi 125, celebrates Johannesburg turning 125 years old.

Fri 23 Dec : Westbury, Riverlea area : Theme : Jozi Chameleon. Starts and ends at Westbury Recreation Centre on Roberts Avenue, Riverlea.

Tues 27 Dec: Roodeport and Braamfischer region : Theme - Going Green, Going Clean. Starts at cricket oval and ends at Braamfischerville Multipurpose Centre.
